Essay on Reasons for the Expansion of Deforestation

There are many reasons for the expansion of deforestation. For instance agricultural activities, which are one of the major factors affecting deforestation because of the steadily increasing demand for food products, a large amount of trees are being cut down for cattle gazing. Logging contributes to all the wood base industries of paper, furniture, as well as a significant amount of wood supply. Wood is also used as fuel, therefore trees are cut for supplies, some examples of wood being used as fuels are charcoal and firewood. Some of these industries will develop on illegal wood cutting and felling of trees. (Deforestation: Facts, Causes , 2013). Lastly the water cycle of the rainforest gets greatly affected because when it rai ns most of the water get stored inside the roots of the trees and plants. Then the water releases out into the atmosphere, forming clouds for the next day to rain again. If this process is broken then the climate will dry out, and plants that need a humid climate to survive will start dying . (Rainforest Water and Nutrient, 2014). Deforestation has brought many effects to our world, therefore deforestation has to stop! Now that we have established the causes and effects of deforestation, we can talk about our environmental future. As we all know Trees play an important role in the carbon cycle. (The Carbon Cycle, n.d.).We humans breath in air, and exhale carbon dioxide, then trees will take in the carbon dioxide we exhaled and will turn it into oxygen.
